A little help.

Tell us what happened.
Write to [email protected]. Include your device model, iOS or watchOS version, Earlo version, and the steps that led to the issue. A screenshot or a short, non-sensitive sample can help us reproduce it.
Please do not send passwords, Zotero API keys, private documents or books you do not have permission to share. We cannot see your local library. You choose what to include in your message.
Bring your first read.
Use the + menu on Home to import a file, paste text, save a webpage or scan a page. Review the import before saving it. Earlo supports EPUB, PDF, TXT, Markdown, HTML, RTF and DOCX, along with text recognized from images.
Protected books may not import: Earlo does not remove DRM. If a PDF is a scan, text recognition may be needed. Complex layouts, equations and tables can need checking against the original.
Getting startedListen offline.
Open a saved document and tap Play. Narration is generated on your device, without an Earlo account. Make sure an iCloud document has downloaded before going offline. Web imports, paper lookups, Zotero and iCloud sync need an internet connection.
If you cannot hear narration, check media volume and the current audio output, including Bluetooth headphones. Try pausing and resuming playback, or test the included Welcome to Earlo guide to see whether the issue is specific to one document.
Offline listening guideChoose your language.
In Settings, App language can follow your device or use English, Spanish, French, Hindi, Italian, Brazilian Portuguese, Japanese, Simplified Chinese or Arabic. Arabic uses a right-to-left interface.
Narration is a separate setting. English voices are joined by preview voices for Spanish, French, Hindi, Italian, Brazilian Portuguese, Japanese and Mandarin Chinese. Automatic language detection can switch voices between supported-language paragraphs. Arabic narration is not currently included.
Changing the app language does not translate your documents. Text recognition and some scientific pronunciation tools remain English-oriented. If detection chooses the wrong voice, turn automatic detection off and choose the narration language manually.
Keep your place across devices.
Optional iCloud sync uses your Apple Account. On each device, check that you are signed into the same account and that Sync with iCloud is enabled in Earlo. The sync screen shows progress and errors; document downloads normally wait for Wi-Fi unless cellular downloads are enabled.
The Apple Watch app works with the paired iPhone. It can browse the phone’s library, control phone playback and save bookmarks. Keep the iPhone available for narration. In Watch Settings, choose a language or Match iPhone; Arabic layout is supported there too.
Research, imports and privacy.
For Zotero, use a key with read access to the library you want to import. Do not send the key to support. DOI and arXiv lookups depend on the source being available, and an identifier does not guarantee an accessible PDF.
You can remove documents and notes in the app. Turning off iCloud sync does not by itself erase existing cloud copies. Read our privacy policy for details about local storage, optional services and privacy requests.
